Once on a trail run, I was described as a bit of a Plodder, being very new to running I was unsure what was meant. I`m sure my face expressed this, as this was then explained as “You`ve just got your head down and getting the miles done “.
There was no question of how far I was covering, how long I`d been running but just acceptance that I was capable.
This for me personally, it was the moment I fell in love with running, and I was happy to be referred to as a Plodder.
Definition of a Plodder; Someone who works continuously.
I then thought as I was running through the mud and rain, that I wanted a group of the best of the best Plodders, in fact the Ultimate Plodders.
Definition of Ultimate; being the best or most extreme example of its kind.
For me the Ultimate Plodder is someone who gets their trainers on, supports, encourages and inspires others, who also accepts and celebrates their own personal capabilities whilst achieving their goals.
I have a phenomenal group of “Ultimate Plodders “who demonstrate these qualities on a regular basis, by sharing plods on the group page inspiring others, making the time to talk to Plodders and participate in Run and Talk Sessions, joining in challenges and even donning a dinosaur costume or two.
In my opinion, we certainly are the Ultimate Plodders.
