Before you don a pair of trainers, there is a whole list of reasons that you can generate as to why not. The list can include and is certainly not limited to the following.
Too hot, too cold, too wet, it may look like rain, snow, sunshine.
I`ve had a tough day, long day or that it`s just a Monday.
I can`t go on my own.
These generally occur before, what will I look like? what will people think and what if I can`t do it?
Our fault as human`s is that we tend to think the worst, what if I look ridiculous? What happens if I can’t run to the end of the road?
What actually happens once you`ve turned up? You celebrate that the excuses didn’t win and you`ve completed your first step to becoming an Ultimate Plodder.
The thing with running, is that no one is born running. We all have had to learn to crawl, shimmy and walk all before we can run. As an adult this is the same process. It takes time, confidence and the odd hurdle or two.
How we develop these skills, depend on a couple of principal ideas.
1 – Self-belief that you will eventually get there.
2- The support of those around you, encouraging and supporting you along the way.
At Ultimate Plodders, we will support you at your pace, offer the technical and emotional support and bucket loads of self-belief when you need it. I have personally gone from couch to cheerleader to coach. Something I never thought I would undertake or achieve.
We all learn differently, have different goals and celebrate achievement differently.
This is why as a club we have ensured that we are qualified to support you in helping you both identifying and achieving your goals.
Stepping away from the comfort of your couch may be daunting, but I can assure you once you`ve taken that first step you certainly won’t regret it.
